YOU MAY REMEMBER Chris Borland, the 24-year old who retired from American football because of concussions, and recently described by ESPN as “the most dangerous man in football.”
During the interview, Borland mentioned that at the 2014 NFL Rookie Symposium a veteran player told them to get a “fall guy” who could help them avoid legal trouble by going to jail for them.

It now appears that veteran was none other than Cris Carter, an eight-time Pro Bowler with over 1100 receptions and 130 touchdowns in his NFL career.
Video — which was on the NFL.com site until yesterday — has emerged of Carter, in his Hall of Fame jacket, and Warren Sapp talking to the rookies when Carter says:
“Y’all not gonna all do the right stuff. I gotta teach yall how to get around all this stuff too. If you gonna have a crew, one of them fools got to know he going to jail.”
Sapp — who was recently charged with domestic violence — laughs at Carter’s comments though the former Vikings wide receiver does not appear to be joking.
The NFL, understandably, are not amused and issued a statement condemning Carter:
“This was an unfortunate and inappropriate comment made by Cris Carter during the 2014 NFC rookie symposium. The comment was not representative of the message of the symposium or any other league program.
“The league’s player engagement staff immediately expressed concern about the comment to Cris. The comment was not repeated in the 2014 AFC session or this year’s symposium.”
